FAQs

  • As accomplished journalists and broadcasters, we know how to engage speakers and involve audiences in ways that are illuminating, entertaining and inclusive.

We bring years of expertise to the planning table where every successful event starts, co-creating experiences alongside our clients that stay on message and time.

  • Right at the beginning, and as early as possible! Our moderators have a wealth of experience to share on what works well, suggesting formats that improve the impact of your event. We are often the last thing you think about, but we shouldn’t be. We want your event to be a success. Use our skills and knowledge to take your event to the next level.

  • This differs from moderator to moderator and also depends on a variety of factors, such as the event requirements, the urgency, the complexity and the preparation time needed.

  • Each client is different. Each assignment is different. What we need to agree on is the fee and the parameters of the moderator’s role and the contract needs to reflect these elements. Beyond this, the contract can be the standard form that you use for suppliers or a bespoke agreement that we co-create.

  • Book your moderator early! In an ideal world, it requires a minimum four weeks. But we will do our best to respond to urgent requests.

The amount of time varies depending on the complexity of the event, the number of speakers involved, the need for long rehearsals and so on. Our moderators always seek to build in the appropriate amount of time so that everyone is properly prepared on the day.

  • It is rare for an event to be cancelled, but we understand it is a possibility. What happens in these circumstances depends on the timing of the cancellation and the agreement/contract established with the client at the start.

For example, if some preparatory work has already been done (e.g. meetings with organisers and speakers, poll drafting, script writing) then we would discuss paying a proportion of our original fee appropriate to the amount of work already done. Whereas if the event (or our participation in it) is cancelled at the last minute (e.g. one week beforehand), then, depending on the contractual situation, we would discuss being paid the entire fee.

  • As explained in our offering page, each of us has our own approach to event promotion on social channels, including Linkedin and X, which we each agree individually with clients. Contact us to talk through your event and social media ambitions.

  • Yes, we do and often successfully, especially for European institutions. Contact us to discuss opportunities for collaboration.

  • A moderator guides the discussions, often but not always in a panel format. A master of ceremonies is the face of the event who is responsible for linking panels and synthesising the proceedings.
